“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower“— Albert Camus

Finding the above quote by the French philosopher Albert Camus was an absolute joy. It perfectly describes how I look at leaves changing colours in autumn.

Before, I assumed that I was some kind of weird for admiring and photographing autumn leaves.

When my husband and I are out for a walk in the woods or in nature parks in autumn, I stop here and there to gush in admiration over autumn leaves, whether on the ground or still clinging to the tree branches.

Let me share some photos of autumn leaves that I find amazing. Except for my collection of dried maple leaves, the rest of the photographed autumn leaves are taken in my little garden in England.

Forsythia

In spring, the forsythia is enveloped in a canopy of bright, yellow flowers; in summer there are no flowers but a foliage of rich green leaves; in autumn, the leaves are changing colours beautifully. ©Josephine Crispin, 2024
