Kindness Is Karmic

What your heart gives in kindness returns to you in kind

When kindness flows off you naturally
like rain quenching a parched land
the payback you’ll get in return
will be as gracious
and glorious
as copious
and blessed.

When kindness flows off you falsely
like a serpent of ulterior motive
the payback you’ll reap in return
will be as spurious,
a “kind act” swathed
in the self-same
dark cloth.

Kindness should be given without expecting anything. Otherwise, an act of kindness concealing a hidden motive is fraudulent.

If the act of “kindness” is contractual, like you-scratch-my-back-and-I’ll-scratch-yours type, that is no kindness.

Karmic kindness could and would catch up with you, sooner or maybe later, and perhaps in an unkind way.
