There is more to the rose other than beauty and scent
The rose is a perennial plant found in all forms. Whether planted in patio containers, or climbing or trailing, or as traditional shrubs and trees, the rose is easily the Queen of the Garden.
The size of the blooms ranges from tiny to small, from medium to large and big as a cabbage.
Their shapes — flat, rounded, cupped, button-eye, rosette and pompom — are also as varied as their colours. From red, orange, pink, peach, snowy white, canary yellow, light yellow, cream to black.
Well, it isn’t actually black but a very dark purple that looks black — unless you come very close to it to check.
Roses have prickly stems, but does anyone care? The exquisite softness of the petals of a rose, plus its enchanting fragrance more than make up for a little prick of its thorns.
The rose is so unique in beauty, in looks, in scent, and in a wide array of colours.
